I was super lucky to win this book through one of BookSparks.com’s giveaways! I had never even heard of this book until I got it in my hands, and honestly, I wasn’t sure it was going to be my cup of tea. However, I ended up LOVING it! π

Janey is the CEO of a wedding dress design house with her best friend Beau, who tells her to lose 30 pounds or she’s out of a job. She takes a forced hiatus from work and throws herself into a million different new diets, workout trends, and wellness regimes. What transpires is a hysterical satirical look at the #thinspo culture.
Many chapters begin with an absurdly fake product or workout routine like broccoli infused water called H2BROC, Free the Nipple yoga, or coffee beans that have been harvested out of bird poop in Brazil. It made me laugh out loud more times than I can count!
Janey’s journey through crash dieting was like holding up a mirror on society — what lengths would you go to just to be thin? Is being thin really what life is all about? The last few chapters held a bit of wisdom, and honestly, this silly little satire made me tear up a bit.
Am I going to crash diet or train 4 hours a day like Janey did? Not at all – who has the time?! But did this make me think a little about implementing some healthier choices into my life? Absolutely! π
