You Are Not Alone by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen was one of my February Book of the Month selections. I have read the authors’ other two novels (An Anonymous Girl & The Wife Between Us) and was excited to read their next collaboration.
There is so little I can say about this novel without spoiling it for you, so I will be brief:
- While most of the characters are objectively “cool” people who appear to live lives like Instagram influencers, I didn’t really LIKE any of them.
- Lots of twists & turns — I never really knew who was ‘in charge’ and what was going to happen next.
- I was confused for quite a good chunk at the beginning of the book — so pay close attention.
I gave this book 3.5/5 stars because it was quite readable in the moment, but not super memorable in the end. The characters were one dimensional, and it all seemed a little too far-fetched for me. However, its quick pace & twisty nature made it a fun, though mindless, read.
